Soft Skill is a combination of people skills, social skills, communication skills, character, attitudes, career attributes, social intelligence, and emotional intelligence, among others that enable people to navigate their environment, work well with others, perform well, and achieve their goals by completing their hard skills. Collins English Dictionary defines the term "subtle skills" as "the desired quality for a particular form of work that does not depend on the knowledge gained: they include common sense, ability to deal with people, and positive flexible attitude."

Since 1959, the US Army has invested a large amount of resources into the development of technology-based training procedures. In 1968, the US Army officially introduced a training doctrine known as the "Engineering Training System" covered in the Reg 350-100-1 Reg file.
PG Whitmore cites the definition of CON Reg 350-100-1: "Job-related skills involving actions that affect people and papers especially, for example, inspecting troops, supervising office personnel, undertaking studies, preparing maintenance reports, preparing efficiency reports, designing bridge structures. "
At the Soft Skill Conference CONARC 1972. Whitmore presented a report aimed at finding out how the terms "soft skill" (in the field of command, supervision, counseling and leadership) were understood at CONARC schools. After designing and processing the questionnaire, the following tentative definitions are formulated: "Soft skills are important job-related skills that involve little or no interaction with machines and those that apply to jobs are fairly common."
They further criticize the state of the concept then as vague with the words "in other words, job functions that we know are a lot of difficult skills and those we know very little are soft skills." Other direct studies by them also end in a negative tone.
Psychologist Nicholas Humphrey famously states that the social intelligence that defines human beings rather than quantitative intelligence. Many industries today provide soft skills to their employees. Through the 1972 US Army training manual, it was identified the formal use of the term "soft skill" began.

Soft skills are a group of productive personality traits that characterize a person's relationship in an environment. These skills may include social grace, communication skills, language skills, personal habits, cognitive or emotional empathy, time management, teamwork and leadership character. The definition based on the review literature explains soft skills as an umbrella term for skills under three main functional elements: people skills, social skills, and personal career attributes. The National Business Education Association considers soft skills very important to be diligent in the workplace today. Hard skills are the only skills needed for career work and can generally be measured and measured from educational background, work experience or through interviews. In the 20th century soft skill is the main differentiator, a sine qua non for employability and success in life. A study conducted by Harvard University noted that 80% career achievement is determined by soft skills and only 20% by hard skills. Experts say that soft skill training should start for someone when they are students, to work efficiently in their academic environment as well as in their future workplace. A public interest study conducted by McDonald's in the UK estimates more than half a million people will be detained from the jobs sector by 2020 due to a lack of softskill.

A person's soft skills are an important part of their individual contribution to an organization's success. Face-related organizations are generally more successful if they promote activities for staff to develop these skills through health improvement programs. Training or rewards for personal habits or traits such as dependency and caution can result in significant investment returns for an organization. For this reason, softskill is increasingly sought by employers in addition to standard qualifications. Studies by the Stanford Research Institute and the Carnegie Mellon Foundation among Fortune 500 CEOs determined that 75% of long-term employment success resulted from soft skills and only 25% of technical skills (Sinha, 2008). Therefore, soft skills are as important as cognitive/technical skills (John, 2009; Zehr, 1998).

- Communication - the ability to speak orally, in writing, present, listen.
- Courtesy - etiquette, ethics, business ethics, friendly, please convey and thank you, respect.
- Flexibility - adaptability, changeability, lifelong learners, accepting new things, adjusting, teaching.
- Integrity - honest, ethical, high moral, have personal values, do what is right.
- Interpersonal skills - fun, personality, sense of humor, friendly, caring, empathetic, self-controlled, patient, sociable, warm, social skills.
- Positive attitude - optimistic, enthusiastic, encouraging, happy, confident.
- Professionalism - like business, well dressed, looks, ready.
- Responsibility - responsible, reliable, complete work, insightful, self-disciplined, willing to work well, thorough, and reasonable.
- Teamwork - cooperative, socializing with others, fun, supportive, helpful, collaborative.
- Work ethic - hard work, willing to work, loyalty, initiative, self-motivation, timely, good attendance.
