Summer time

From an astronomical view, equinoxes and solstices will be the middle of each season, but sometimes astronomical summer is defined as starting at the solstice, maximum insolation time, or on traditional date June 21. A seasonal variable means the lag that the seasons meteorological center, which is based on the average temperature pattern, occurs several weeks after the maximum insolation time. The meteorological convention is to define summer as the months of June, July, and August in the northern hemisphere and December, January, and February in the southern hemisphere. Based on the meteorological definition, all seasons are arbitrarily set to begin at the beginning of the calendar month and end at the end of the month. The meteorological definition of this summer is also in line with the idea of a summer commonly seen as the season with the longest (and hottest) days of the year, during which daylight dominates. Se Meteorological calculations are used in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Russia and Japan. It is also used by many people in the UK. In Ireland, the summer months according to the national meteorological service, Met ÃÆ'â € ireann, are June, July and August. However, according to the Irish Calendar, summer starts on May 1 and ends on August 1st. School textbooks in Ireland follow the summer cultural norm starting May 1 rather than the June 1 meteorological definition.

The days continue to extend from the equinox to the solstice and the summer days shorten after the solstice, so the meteorological summer covers the buildup up to the longest day and decreases thereafter, with the summer having more hours during the day than spring. Calculation by daylight only, the summer solstice marks the midpoint, not the beginning, the season. Mid-summer takes place during the shortest night of the year, the summer solstice, or on the closest date that varies with tradition.

Where seasonal or semi-seasonal delays are common, calculations based on astronomical markers shifted half a season. With this method, in North America, summer is the period from the summer solstice (usually 20 or 21 June in the Northern Hemisphere) to the autumn equinox.

Reckoning by cultural festivals, summer in the United States is generally regarded as the beginning of Memorial Day weekend (last weekend in May) and ends on Labor Day weekend (first weekend of September), closer to meteorological definition for parts- part of the country that has four seasons weather. Similar Canadian traditions start the summer on Victoria Day one week before (though summer conditions vary widely across Canadian expansive areas) and end, as in the United States, on Labor Day.

In Chinese astronomy, the summer begins on or about May 5, with the sun's term known as lÃÆ'¬xiÃÆ' (??), ie "summer formation", and ends on or about 6th of August.

In southern and southeastern Asia, where the monsoon occurs, summer is more commonly defined as lasting from March, April, May and June, the hottest time of the year, ending with monsoon rains.

Due to shorter temperature pauses in the southern hemisphere of the oceanic climate, most countries in the region use meteorological definitions by summer beginning on December 1 and ending on the last day of February.

Weather

Summer is traditionally associated with hot or warm weather. In the Mediterranean region, it is also associated with dry weather, while elsewhere (especially in East Asia due to the rainy season) it is associated with rainy weather. The rainy season is the main period of vegetation growth in the savanna climate regime. Where the rainy season is associated with the prevailing seasonal wind shifts, this is known as the monsoon.

In the North Atlantic Ocean, different tropical cyclone seasons occur from June 1 to November 30. The peak of the Atlantic hurricane season statistics is September 10th. The northeast Pacific Ocean has a wider period of activity, but within the same timeframe as the Atlantic. The Northwest Pacific sees tropical cyclones year-round, with a minimum in February and March and a peak in early September. In the North Indian basin, storms are most common from April to December, with peaks in May and November. In the Southern Hemisphere, the tropical storm season runs from November 1 to the end of April with peaks in mid-February to early March.

Hurricane season in USA and Canada runs in spring until summer. This storm can produce hail, strong winds and tornadoes, usually during the day and night.

Schools and universities usually have summer vacations to take advantage of warmer weather and longer days. In almost all countries, children do not attend school during this summer time, although dates vary. In the United States, public schools typically end in early June while colleges come out in early May, although some schools come out on the last Thursday or second in May. In England and Wales, schools end in mid-July and resume in early September; in Scotland, the summer vacation begins in late June and ends in mid to late August. Similarly, in Canada the summer vacation starts on the last Friday or the second in June and ends at the end of August or on the first Monday of September, with the exception of when that date falls before Labor Day, in this case, ends on the second Monday of each month. In Russia, summer holidays start at the end of May and end on 31 August. In the Southern Hemisphere, school summer vacation dates include major Christmas and New Year holidays. Summer school holidays in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa begin in early December and end in early February, with varying dates between states. In India, schools end at the end of April and resume in early or mid-June. In Cameroon and Nigeria, schools usually go for summer holidays in mid-July and resume in the final weeks of September or the first week of October.

People generally take advantage of high temperatures by spending more time outdoors during the summer. Activities such as traveling to the beach and picnics occur during the summer months. Sports such as soccer associations, basketball, American soccer, volleyball, skateboarding, baseball, softball, cricket, tennis and golf are played. Water sports are also happening. These include water skiing, wake boarding, swimming, surfing, tubing and water polo. The modern Olympics have been held during the summer months every four years since 1896. The 2000 Summer Olympics, in Sydney, however, are held during the Australian Spring.

Summer is usually the lowest point in watching television, and television schedules generally reflect this by not scheduling new episodes of their most popular show between late May sweep and the beginning of the television season in September instead of scheduling cheap reality television shows and burning commitments for the series which has been canceled. There are exceptions to this with children's television. Many television shows made for children and popular with children are released during the summer months, especially on children's cable channels such as Disney Channels in the United States, when children are away from school. The Disney Channel, for example, ends its preschool program earlier that day for older school-age children in the summer months while it returns to its original schedule when the school year begins. In contrast, the music and film industry generally experienced higher returns during the summer than other times of the year and marketed their summer hit appropriately. The most popular summer for animated films to be released theatrically in theaters.
