The N Seoul Tower (Hangul: Ã, N ???? ), officially YTN Seoul Tower and commonly known as Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower , is a communications and observation tower located at Namsan Mountain in central Seoul, South Korea. At 236m, it marks the second highest point in Seoul.

Built in 1971, N Seoul Tower is the first South Korean radio wave tower, providing TV and radio broadcasts in Seoul. Currently, towers broadcast signals for Korean media, such as KBS, MBC, and SBS.

Histori

Built in 1969, and at a cost of around 2.5 million USD, the tower was opened to the public in 1980. Seoul Tower was completed on 3 December 1971, designed by architects at Jangjongryul although at that time the interior of the facility was not equipped. However, despite the finalization of the tower construction, the observatory was closed to the public until October 15, 1980. Since then, the tower has become a landmark of Seoul. Attractions

Most of Seoul city can be seen from above. Close to N Seoul Tower is the second lattice transmission tower. In 2008, the Teddy Bear Museum opened in the Tower, with a 7m high Christmas tree made with 300 teddy bears to celebrate the opening. This tourist attraction is located on the 2nd floor of N Plaza, on the Terrace Roof. On the third floor, a newly designed observatory, renovated in 2011, can be found. The tower is illuminated in blue from sunset to 23:00 (22:00 in winter) on days when air quality in Seoul is 45 or less. During spring 2012, the Tower is lit for 52 days, four days more than in 2011. The tower uses the latest LED technology to offer visitors a digital art experience through 'light art'. N Seoul Tower has many different shows, including "Reeds of Light" and "Shower of Light."

In 2012, a survey conducted by Seoul City revealed that foreign tourists rated the Tower N Seoul as the number one tourist attraction. N Seoul Tower is now also a symbol of Seoul.

On Earth Day, the lights are held nationally to promote awareness of energy conservation. At 8pm that day, the lights at N Seoul Tower in Namsan disappeared into the darkness.
