Settings
The work depicts the rising of the sun during action 4, scene 4, the Ibsen game, which found Peer Gynt stranded in the Moroccan desert after his friends took the yacht and left it there when he slept. The scene begins with the following description: "Dawn, acacias and palm trees Peer [Gynt] is sitting on his tree using a branch that was snatched away to defend himself against a group of monkeys."
As the Peer Gynt suite unleashes their pieces from the original context of the drama, "Morning Mood" is not widely known in its original setting, and the Scandinavian graphic image of Grieg more often appears in the minds of its listeners from desert people written to describe.
