Papal Shoes
Pope Benedict XVI continues the use of the traditional papal red boots, which were not used since the beginning of Pope John Paul II's papacy. Contrary to the early speculation of the press that the shoe was made by the Italian fashion house Prada, the Vatican announced that the shoe was supplied by the Pope's private cobbler.

Papal headgear
On December 21, 2005, the Pope wore a camauro, a traditional red hat normally worn in winter. It has not been seen since papal Pope John XXIII (1958-1963). On September 6, 2006, the Pope began wearing a red cappello romano (also called saturno), a wide-brimmed hat for outdoor use. Rarely used by John Paul II, it is more widely used by its predecessors.
Mozzetta
Pope Benedict XVI also restored the use of all three forms of papilla mozzetta. During his pediatric Benedict he wore mozzetta winter papal and mozzetta paschal, both of which were last used by Pope Paul VI. The winter mozzetta papal is a red velvet trimmed with a white mink, and the mozzetta paschal, worn only during Eastertide, is a white damask sutra trimmed with a white silk.
Pallium
During his lecture, Pope Benedict XVI spoke at length about the importance of pallium, and he has used an ancient version of vestment, Eastern design, used by popes in the first millennium. Beginning with the Feast of Saint Peter and Paul (29 June 2008) But Benedict XVI was restored to the same form as his predecessors used, although in larger and longer pieces and with a red cross, it remains distinct from pallia worn by metropolitan.
Benedict XVI also re-wore the traditional form of other liturgical robes to emphasize papal continuity and the church.
Fanon
On October 21, 2012, during the canonization mass, Pope Benedict imposed papal fanaticism and continued to do so in major papal liturgical events. The clothes have not been used since the early 1980s when Pope John Paul II used them once during a visit to a Roman monastery.
Tiara
One item Benedict did not use during his papacy was the papal tiara. Like his two predecessors, Benedict chose not to be crowned with a tiara during his Inauguration Mass, nor to wear it since then. However, unlike them, he has emphasized this decision by breaking previous traditions in using partners rather than tiaras in his emblem. Other traditional traditional clothing is also not used, including papal gloves, and papal slippers.
Reception
Charlotte Allen describes Benedict as "aesthetic pope"; "He has reminded a world that looks worse and degrading that something is beautiful - whether it is manifested in a sonata or an altar or a touch of embroidery or a piece of cloak - and the beauty of the world finally communicates, a beauty that transcends worldly things.
Franco Zeffirelli, the famous Italian film director of various luxury productions, criticized the Pope's robe as being too "flashy." He said that, "This is not a time of high-adjusted church attire." Zeffirelli believes that Pope Benedict's clothing is "too luxurious" and makes the Pope appear cool and removed from the surroundings. The Vatican describes the use of traditional Benedict clothing such as the older and higher myths during Christmas "Urbi et Orbi" by pointing out the need "to underline the survival of today's liturgical celebrations with what characterizes the life of the church in the past." The liturgist of the Pope likened the use of the robe worn by earlier whales to annotations in papal documents, in which "a pope quotes the pope who preceded him to show the continuation of the church's magisterium."
In August 2008, the Italian Association for the Defense of Animals and the Environment called on Pope Benedict to stop wearing animal fur like camauro and mozetta trimmed kettles whose use was revived. The group cites the love of the famous Pontiff cat and started an online petition to try to persuade Benedict to switch to synthetic.
